Become a SponsorThis event is free of charge to the participants and is aimed at high school girls in public, private and alternative schools. This year is our sixth annual program. We offer workshops that focus on resume writing and interview techniques, getting into college, budgeting and other financial issues. We begin the day with a keynote speaker and conclude with a "The Right Look" fashion show. The program has won two awards, one from the Maryland State Bar Association for "Best Service to the Public Project Award" and the other from the Montgomery County Bar Association. The seminar is sponsored and funded by the Montgomery County Women's Bar Foundation, which is a non-profit organization that awards scholarships to college students in the community, in addition to outreach programs like "Preparing for Success." Montgomery College hosts the annual event. For the past four years the Foundation has awarded scholarships to both college and law school students in the area. In 2004, the Foundation designated a scholarship specifically for a Montgomery College student. While the Montgomery County Chapter of the Women's Bar Association is providing some funds to cover expenses, additional funds are needed. We are writing to ask that you help sponsor this event with $250.00 Silver Sponsorship, $500.00 Gold Sponsorship or a $1,000.00 Platinum Sponsorship. As a sponsor of this very worthwhile project your name will appear in our program the day of the "Preparing for Success" seminar, as well as in the Women's Bar Association Newsletter and the Montgomery County Bar Association Newsletter. We will also prepare and display a large poster containing the names of our sponsors at the event on November 17, 2007. This event has received coverage from the local newspapers each year and we anticipate even more publicity in the up-coming year, since it is our seventh annual program.
